Everyone knows what a coach is in a sports context.
A coach is someone who understands the rules of the activity, demonstrates expertise in the skills needed to excel in the activity and can instruct others on how to improve in their personal development towards fulfilling specific goals.
Pain coaching is no different. Pain coaches help people to ascertain problems, develop goals, discover their motivations for change, strategize effective solutions for goal attainment, implement these strategies to achieve success, evaluate progress, and reach the desired destination
- Athletes have coaches.
- Actors and singers have coaches.
- Business executives have coaches.
- Investors have coaches.
- Anyone who wants to succeed should have a coach.
Coaches facilitate the realization of success in all endeavors.
Chronic pain and illness sufferers certainly need such an advocate in their corner. Chronically ill people do best when they take charge of their own health, symptom management and outlook on life.
During your coaching program, we will work one-on-one in our sessions together. We can work together over the phone, by FaceTime, by Messenger, or by Skype. If we live close enough, we can meet in person, if you prefer.
In between sessions, we will also correspond via email, in order to answer any questions that you might have or to help you with any aspect of the coaching process.
Your entire coaching program is clearly mapped out for you, in terms of what needs to be done at any stage of the timeline. I will keep you moving forward, motivate you, challenge you, inspire you, support you and guide you. All you need to do is actively participate in the journey. Your destination will provide you with the opportunity to enjoy a life that is markedly improved across numerous measurable criteria.
Chronic pain or illness can be a slippery slope. One false move can spell disaster. The collateral consequences of chronic pain and illness are proven to affect people physically, mentally, psychoemotionally, socially and vocationally. In fact, there is not a single aspect of life that is not generally affected by enduring pain or lasting illness.
Luckily, science has also proven to us that our states of happiness or misery do not depend on how serious your illness is or how painful or debilitating your symptoms are.
Good coaching supports and mentors the client to become independent. My chronic pain coaching program is unique in certain respects. Anything that can be learned by coaching clients can be accomplished in a finite timeline. There is no reason to perpetuate the coaching process longer than necessary. This is a selling point, since it saves time and money, but more importantly, allows the individual to take over the reins of their own life quicker and more effectively.
You are already headed in the right direction. You have recognized that life can be better.
You have committed to improving your life by hiring a coach.
